PARK SLOPE
In the 1800's Park Slope became a hot spot for Brooklyn's elite and a summer retreat for the wealthy from Manhattan. Named for its closeness to Prospect Park and its' incline from the Gowanus Canal to Prospect Park, the neighborhood is divided into 3 smaller neighborhoods...North Slope...Center Slope...South Slope. Boundaries: Flatbush Avenue on the north to the Prospect Expressway on the south. 3rd/4th Avenue on the west to Prospect Park West on the east. Subway access: N, R, F, Q, 2, 3
